The inspiration behind the Sherpa name

I can't begin to tell you how many times I've had folks stop me at shows wondering how we came up with the name Sherpa. Among other suggested explanations, I've had to inform folks that we really have no affiliation with the country of Nepal or with climbing in the Himalayas!

The caption in this photograph very eloquently highlights the sentiment behind our name. The caption reads "Sherpa Climbing Guide - Even if you are merely trekking in the Himalayas, a Sherpa guide is an invaluable member of your team." We certainly hope and feel our products and our people accomplish that for our customers.
