CNF is a leading provider of global supply chain solutions for a wide range of manufacturing, industrial, retail and government customers. The challenge presented to the CNF Email management team was to support a newly created corporate mail policy. Specific requirements included automated creation / distribution of aging message reports and automated processes for managing obsolete Email based on policy guidelines. CNF chose Mail Attender® for Exchange. “Mail Attender was the best solution we found for providing the automated reporting and mailbox processing features we required,” said Rob Nesbitt, Manager, Global Systems Support.
CNF implemented Mail Attender by linking multiple consoles to a centralized SQL database. The multiple console strategy reduced the impact of lower bandwidth connections to remote sites and decreased total processing times for automated processes. The following diagram provides an overview of the CNF implementation:
The Mail Attender architecture is being used in the CNF environment to identify Network PST files, gather statistics on aging mail messages, and run automated mail management processes. The automated processes include creation and delivery of aging message reports and purging of obsolete messages in selected folders. Nesbitt summed up the CNF experience by saying that “We have had a positive experience partnering with Sherpa to get the Mail Attender product in place. In particular, the Sherpa Technical Support Team has been very responsive answering questions and working with us to resolve challenges related to the size of our environment. The product is running well and providing the functionality that we were looking for. Anyone needing to do mailbox level reporting and/or processing in their Exchange environment should take a close look at this product.”
