Sherpa Software Releases Archive Attender® for Exchange Version 2.5
File Management for Network and User Drives
Pittsburgh, PA, February 14, 2006 – Sherpa Software has announced the latest release of their email and PST file archiving solution, Archive Attender for Exchange 2.5. Archive Attender can successfully move messages and attachments to an external storage device from Microsoft Exchange mailboxes and PST files to effectively answer storage management, regulatory compliance and information security requirements.Version 2.5 of Archive Attender adds flexibility for users to access their personal archives. In addition to users viewing their complete archive through a web interface within Outlook, the entire email can be removed from the mailbox and replaced by message stubs. With this version, users will have direct access to their archived messages in a virtually seamless way while keeping the folder structure intact to eliminate users from 'message hunting'.
While both access options can be used independently, when stubbing and the web interface are used in conjunction, the user can have their mailbox intact while still having a portal into all of their own archived messages. Within the portal, users can easily search, view, send, forward and restore their archived messages from one location within the mailbox. This gives users more access and control over their archives.
Version 2.5 will also provide further storage management functionality such as the ability to archive attachments only, while keeping the original message intact. Like all aspects of Archive Attender, the new functionality does not require the deployment of a component to the client computer or any additional hardware.
“The latest release of Archive Attender provides near seamless archiving integration to our customers. Users’ archived messages are kept in the original location, thereby making user training to access archived messages minimal,” says Kevin Ogrodnik, Vice-President, Sherpa Software. “The advent of compliance and increase in corporate law suits has made the need to archive a necessary business practice. Our goal in the archiving sector is to provide an affordable solution with options that are flexible for any size organization.”
