Discovery Attender® for Notes Extends Search Capabilities to Common Storage Files
Version 6.2 of Discovery Attender for Notes is Released
Pittsburgh, PA, July 17, 2006 – Sherpa Software, creators of Mail Attender® and Database Attender®, has announced the latest release of their content discovery solution, Discovery Attender® for Notes. Discovery Attender is a Lotus Notes search and discovery tool that automates investigative tasks in messages, files and attachments stored in Domino server databases, local databases and instant message logs.
Version 6.2 takes the search capabilities one step further to reach files located outside of Lotus Notes. Now, users can specify keywords to locate content in non-Notes files. These files include Word documents, spreadsheets and PDF files, among others. Once files are located, the documents matching the search criteria can be logged or collected as attachments in the results database. Results can also be exported to XML for viewing through a web browser.
“Conducting searches in files outside of Notes moves Discovery Attender for Notes to the next level,” says Harvey Coblin, Product Manager, Sherpa Software. “Corporate litigation has become more mainstream and as a result, companies need the means to quickly access content and retrieve information once an e-discovery request has been issued. Discovery Attender can instantly give companies access to content stored throughout their systems.”
In addition to common file searching, this version of Discovery Attender will introduce a new method for administrators to manage user permissions with the use of User Profile documents. These documents allow the administrator to set security option access levels for various users, such as which servers or databases can be searched to better maintain control over who can access various files and sever locations.
