Mail Attender® for Exchange Integrates Active Directory Support Version 4.0 of Mail Attender for Exchange Enterprise is Released
Pittsburgh, PA, June 7, 2006 – Sherpa Software, a premier content management software provider, has announced the latest release of their flagship email and PST file management tool, Mail Attender for Exchange Enterprise version 4.0. Mail Attender for Exchange provides comprehensive policy enforcement and content management in PST files (personal storage folders) on desktops/servers, Exchange mailboxes and public folders to companies looking to address issues relating to storage management, content discovery and compliance.
A key enhancement to Mail Attender 4.0 is the integration of Active Directory features. In this new version, Active Directory can be queried for mailbox enabled objects and user groups allowing you to enforce your policies based on a user’s membership in these groups. Administrators can also assign ownership to PST files allowing users’ PST emails to be processed based on the same group membership. These new features should prove extremely beneficial to organizations that rely heavily on Active Directory for user management.
The console of Mail Attender has also been improved upon with this new release. Alerts have been added to provide immediate notifications if a process encounters any issues or a database error occurs, rather than simply logging it. This time saving feature eliminates the need to manually search logs.
“Active Directory integration is a great addition to Mail Attender “, says Tom Hand, Product Manager, Sherpa Software. “It will bring many more organizational options to our customers both small and large. Anyone who relies on Active Directory will really appreciate these enhancements.”
