Archive Attender® 3.1 Increases Archiving Options Without Requiring a Back-end SQL Database

Pittsburgh, PA, January 11, 2007 – Sherpa Software today announced a series of product improvements to Archive Attender for Exchange designed to increase administrative options and manageability while still offering a flexible archiving architecture to companies addressing storage, legal and compliance requirements. Archive Attender already boasts an innovative archiving mechanism that does not require a back-end SQL database, but uses a file system based archiving schema that allows greater flexibility and granular control over the lifecycle management of emails.

Archive Attender Version 3.1 improves the current functionality in a variety of areas. Archive conditions have been expanded to include criteria such as: quotas, date, subject line by keyword and sender. This gives Administrators greater flexibility when searching for information to address stringent compliance archiving requirements. Stub options have also been expanded upon to provide multiple plaintext and HTML stubs, offering more ways to customize how end-users are accessing their archived messages over the two stub options that were previously available. Version 3.1 also extends the reach of the administrator by offering the ability to archive from additional locations such as: Calendar Entries, Contacts, Tasks, Journals and Sticky Notes.

The scheduling options have also been enhanced. Now, schedules can be set within a specified length of time to allow processing to occur during the most convenient times of the day such as after hours and weekends. Additionally, the new scheduling features provide more control over the entire processing window of time with specific focus on processing end times.

“We approached this version with a clear intent to improve convenience, flexibly and manageability for the Administrator ” says Balaji Srinivasan, Product Developer, Sherpa Software. "Sherpa’s focus with our products has always been on simplicity and this release of Archive Attender further enhances that credo“.
